Casino with a credit card: Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay
Values per casino, each with its source.
Visa and Mastercard are available at all 5 casinos in this comparison: according to casino.guru, Playzilla, Rolling Slots, PlayiO, Qbet and AmunRa list them among their deposit methods, as do bank transfer, Paysafecard, Skrill, Neteller and Bitcoin, among others. Among the deposit methods at online casinos, the card is the focus here: Visa, Mastercard and the phone wallets Apple Pay and Google Pay, which charge a stored card.
On the way back, according to AskGamblers, 4 of the 5 casinos pay out to Visa or Mastercard; Qbet does not. Times range from 0–5 days (Playzilla, AskGamblers EN) to 3–7 days (AmunRa, AskGamblers EN); for two casinos the German and English versions of the source contradict each other, and both values are shown below.
Whether gambling payments go through, whether a fee applies and what happens when a card transaction is disputed is decided by your bank.

Online casino with Visa: deposits and the process
Visa is on the deposit list at all 5 casinos. That is not a given: none of the 5 is a casino with PayPal, none lists Trustly, Klarna appears only at Rolling Slots according to AskGamblers (casino.guru lists it at none of the 5), and Apple Pay and Google Pay appear at two at most. The card is the lowest common denominator for anyone avoiding both e-wallets and depositing with crypto.
The minimum deposit depends on the casino, not the card. For Rolling Slots and PlayiO the sources give €10 in general and €20 for the welcome bonus. For Qbet, AskGamblers gives €10 for fiat payments and €20 for the bonus, while its bonus page gives €10 for the bonus too. For Playzilla, €20 (AskGamblers bonus page) and €10 (AskGamblers DE) stand side by side. For AmunRa only the welcome bonus minimum is documented, €10.
According to the sources, none of the 5 casinos charges a deposit fee; bank fees are covered in the section on the bank's gambling fee.
That leaves the question whether Visa allows gambling at all. Visa is a card network; each payment is decided by the bank that issued your card. Section 16 (4) of the German Anti-Money Laundering Act (GwG) requires deposits for online gambling to come by direct debit, transfer or payment card from a payment account in your name (as published on gesetze-im-internet.de, retrieved 06.10.2026). A partner's card does not qualify.
- Step 1
Open the cashier
In the player account's deposit area select Visa or Mastercard.
- Step 2
Choose the amount
Check the casino's minimum deposit; a higher minimum may apply for a bonus.
- Step 3
Enter the card details
Enter number, expiry date and security code; the card must be in the account holder's name.
- Step 4
Approve in your banking app
The bank usually asks for confirmation by app or code (strong customer authentication).
- Step 5
Booking check
Compare the account credit with the card statement charge; report differences to support.
Casino with Mastercard
In our data Mastercard matches Visa: all 5 casinos list it for deposits, and the same 4 that pay out to Visa list Mastercard for withdrawals. Playzilla, Rolling Slots, PlayiO and AmunRa thus offer both directions.
A Mastercard withdrawal runs in two stages, as with Visa: first the casino checks the request (pending time), then the payment provider sends the amount, and only then does the time AskGamblers lists under „Card Payments“ start. For Rolling Slots withdrawals the data sheet gives 24–72 hours pending plus 3–5 days for cards; together that is the realistic wait.
Credit or debit makes no difference to the casino, as both carry the network's logo. A credit card deposit, however, is paid from the credit line and leaves your current account only with the monthly statement, so the card statement is a second budget check next to the casino account.
Apple Pay & Google Pay
Apple Pay and Google Pay are not separate accounts but phone wallets holding a Visa card or Mastercard. Paying with Apple Pay means paying with your card, confirmed by face recognition or fingerprint.
The offer is narrow. casino.guru lists both wallets only at Qbet; AskGamblers also lists Google Pay at Qbet plus Apple Pay at Rolling Slots. For Playzilla, PlayiO and AmunRa no source mentions either. For Google Pay that leaves exactly one option.
Neither wallet appears in any data sheet as a withdrawal method. Depositing by phone wallet therefore needs a second method for casino withdrawals, at Qbet for example bank transfer, Skrill, Neteller or MiFinity.
Google Pay is not the same as the Google Play Store balance. The latter is for apps and store content and is on no payment list of the 5 casinos. For prepaid without card details there is the casino with Paysafecard, which all 5 list for deposits; a withdrawal to Paysafecard appears in the data sheet of only 2 of the 5.
Withdrawal to the card
A withdrawal to a credit card is possible, but not everywhere and not as fast as the deposit.
| Casino | Visa/Mastercard as withdrawal method | Card withdrawal time |
|---|---|---|
| Playzilla | yes | 0–5 days (AskGamblers EN) / 3–5 days (AskGamblers DE) |
| Rolling Slots | yes | 3–5 days |
| PlayiO | yes | 3–5 days |
| Qbet | no (not on the list) | 24–48 hours (data sheet, card not on the method list) |
| AmunRa | yes | 3–7 days (AskGamblers EN) / 24–72 hours (AskGamblers DE) |
- Step 1
Complete verification
Before the first withdrawal casinos usually ask for ID and proof of address, for cards often a photo of the card with digits covered.
- Step 2
Request the withdrawal
In the cashier select the card for withdrawal and enter an amount within the daily and monthly limits.
- Step 3
Wait for processing
While pending, the request can still be cancelled; then it goes to the payment provider.
- Step 4
Credit on the card
The credit shows up on the card statement; on a credit card it reduces the outstanding balance.
For Qbet withdrawals the picture is contradictory: the data sheet gives 24–48 hours for card payments but lists neither Visa nor Mastercard among its 18 withdrawal methods. After a card deposit there, ask support before the first withdrawal which method applies. The data sheet's options include bank transfer, i.e. paying via SEPA, Skrill, Neteller, MiFinity and cryptocurrencies.
Limits matter too. Per day the sources give €500 each at Playzilla, Rolling Slots, PlayiO and AmunRa, plus €500 per transaction at Rolling Slots. Per month it is €7,000 at Playzilla, PlayiO and AmunRa and €10,000 at Rolling Slots; for withdrawing at Playzilla AskGamblers DE gives up to €1,500 per day and €20,000 per month depending on VIP level. These limits apply to all withdrawals, not only the card. A minimum withdrawal is documented at Rolling Slots (€10 per AskGamblers, €20 per LCB) and PlayiO (€20 per the AskGamblers data sheet, €10 per casinoohnelizenz.com); for Playzilla and AmunRa no source gives an amount.
The card is slower than an e-wallet because the credit runs through the card network to the issuing bank. Data sheets give 0–1 hours for e-wallets against 24–48 hours for cards at Qbet, 0–96 hours against 3–5 days at PlayiO, 0–24 hours against 3–5 days at Rolling Slots. For Playzilla and AmunRa the English version gives one range for all routes, so the casino's processing time decides.
A withdrawal usually lands on the card used to deposit. Under Section 16 (7) GwG, payouts may only go to a payment account in the player's name, with the purpose stated (as published on gesetze-im-internet.de, retrieved 06.10.2026). For operators with a German licence, Section 6a of the State Treaty on Gambling (GlüStV) adds that after a change of payment details, payouts may only go to the previously stored connection until the new details are verified (as published on gesetze-bayern.de, retrieved 06.10.2026). After a card change, for example on expiry, clear this with the casino before withdrawing.
When the bank blocks gambling payments
A declined card payment often means the bank does not pay that recipient. In Germany the legal basis is Section 9 (1) GlüStV: the gambling supervisory authority can, after prior notice, prohibit banks and payment service providers from taking part in payments for unlicensed gambling and payouts from it (as published on gesetze-bayern.de, retrieved 06.10.2026). For online offers this lies with the Joint Gambling Authority of the German federal states (GGL).
Beyond the law, each bank has its own rules: some block gambling payments on principle, others let customers block them in the banking app. Your bank's terms state which applies.
To block gambling payments yourself, for example during a break, some banks offer a setting in the card options; there is also the nationwide self-exclusion system OASIS run by the Regional Council of Darmstadt.
The bank's gambling fee
A gambling charge on the card statement usually does not come from the casino. Keep apart the casino's deposit or withdrawal fees and the bank's own fee for card payments to gambling operators.
Casino fees are documented. According to the sources, Playzilla, Rolling Slots and PlayiO charge none for deposits and withdrawals. AmunRa charges no withdrawal fees but notes that payment providers may charge their own; for an account inactive for at least 180 days, the company may charge a monthly administration fee according to AskGamblers DE. At Qbet the first withdrawal per day is free, every further one within 24 hours costs a 3 % administration fee, capped at €20.
For banks there is no single figure. Some card issuers treat gambling payments like a cash withdrawal and charge a fee, others do not. Your bank's price schedule sets this out; our sources give no amounts and we estimate none. With a credit card, interest may apply if the statement is not paid in full.
Currency can cost too. All 5 casinos list the euro among many currencies. A player account in a foreign currency triggers a foreign transaction fee on many cards, per the bank's price list; a euro account avoids it.
Credit cards and the law: what applies to card payments
German law contains no explicit ban on credit cards at online casinos. Section 16 (4) GwG expressly names the payment card as a permitted deposit route, next to direct debit and transfer, provided the payment account is in the player's name. An exception applies to small amounts: no more than €25 per transaction and €100 per calendar month (as published on gesetze-im-internet.de, retrieved 06.10.2026).
The State Treaty on Gambling adds rules for operators with a German licence, i.e. on the GGL gambling whitelist. Under Section 6b (4) GlüStV, deposits and withdrawals are only permitted through a payment account in the player's name at a credit or payment institution, and anonymous means of payment are not permitted in distance selling (as published on gesetze-bayern.de, retrieved 06.10.2026). Section 4 (5) GlüStV bars operators from granting or advertising loans to players. Credit on your own credit card is not covered, because the bank grants it, not the casino. The GGL is not responsible for transaction problems (as published on gluecksspiel-behoerde.de, retrieved 06.10.2026).
When a card payment is disputed
There are two very different cases. In the first, someone used your card without your consent. For such an unauthorised payment, Section 675u of the German Civil Code (BGB) requires your bank to refund the amount without delay, at the latest by the end of the business day after your report; if there is a written report of suspected fraud by the payer, only after examination (as published on gesetze-im-internet.de, retrieved 07.10.2026). Block the card and inform the bank promptly.
In the second, you approved the deposit yourself and later want the money back, for example because the casino refuses a withdrawal. Section 675u BGB does not apply, as the payment was authorised. Recovery depends on bank rules, operator conduct and the law; see the page on how to reverse a credit card payment, together with bank transfer and direct debit.
A case is pending: under I ZR 216/25 the Federal Court of Justice is conducting a leading-decision procedure on refunds of losses from unlicensed online gambling; the lower courts ruled for the player, and the hearing took place on 17.09.2026 (as published on bundesgerichtshof.de, retrieved 06.10.2026). The source names no judgment yet. Under Section 762 BGB gambling and betting create no binding obligation, but what has been paid cannot be reclaimed on that ground alone (as published on gesetze-im-internet.de, retrieved 07.10.2026). For a specific case, contact a consumer advice centre or a lawyer.
Card, e-wallet or bank transfer: the card in comparison
In our data the card has one clear advantage: it is among the methods all 5 casinos list for deposits, alongside bank transfer, Paysafecard, Skrill, Neteller and Bitcoin, among others. With a Visa card or Mastercard you need no extra account.
The drawbacks are on the way back. Per the data sheets, a card withdrawal takes longer than an e-wallet one at Rolling Slots, PlayiO and Qbet. Add possible bank fees and declined gambling payments. With e-wallets, the wallet provider's own gambling terms decide.
A third group are prepaid options such as Paysafecard and Neosurf at the casino, where no card details reach the casino; they serve mainly for deposits, and withdrawals to them are rare in the data sheets (Paysafecard at 2 of the 5, Neosurf only at AmunRa). Weighing card against prepaid, plan the way back first: withdrawal method, time per the source, daily and monthly limits.
